How did you come to be a General Manager?

Interestingly, becoming a General Manager was never part of my original plan.

I spent 16 years with Four Seasons in commercial leadership roles throughout Europe and the United States. During the pandemic, while many hotels were closed, I made a move into luxury retail where I was leading the operation in an entirely different industry.

That experience became a turning point. I thought, if I can lead a business outside of hospitality, why not do it within the company where my heart truly belongs? I made a decision: return to Four Seasons, with the goal of becoming a General Manager.

I came back as Hotel Manager in Florence, and that experience confirmed it. What I love most about the role is its incredible variety. In a single day, I can discuss strategies with the hotel owners, review engineering plans, taste new menu concepts with the culinary team, discuss spa experiences, connect with guests over coffee, build strategic plans, and spend meaningful time supporting employees.

No two conversations are the same. It is demanding; it feels like living ten lives in one day, and I absolutely love that.

What drew you to the East Cape, and what continues to inspire you about this destination?

Costa Palmas is one of the most significant developments in the Four Seasons portfolio. With a large residential component and a team of more than 650 employees, it is the largest operation I have ever led.

What excited me most was the opportunity to be part of something pioneering. The East Cape remains wonderfully raw and untouched, yet our guests arrive with the highest expectations of luxury. The challenge and privilege of delivering exceptional Four Seasons service in such a pristine, natural environment is what inspires me every day.

What is your perfect day off in Los Cabos?

It would start with an early morning run along the beach, followed by a swim in the Sea of Cortez. After that, a traditional Mexican breakfast, a spa treatment, and some well-deserved time to recharge.

Later in the day, neighbours would arrive with freshly caught tuna, and we would prepare tuna carpaccio poolside with a fantastic mezcalita. My husband, who is an Italian conductor and pianist, would share the piece he is currently working on, right now it is Georges Bizet's Carmen. I watch his movements and we talk about the piece.

Most importantly, I spend time with my dog, Philly. She's a true prima donna. Although she's a Baja dog, she only understands Italian and lives a very chic Baja lifestyle.

When friends or family visit for the first time, what is the one experience they must have? 

They have to swim in the Sea of Cortez.

There is something incredibly restorative about these waters. The sea is calm, pristine, and stretches endlessly in every direction. It feels almost lake-like, yet profoundly awakening at the same time.

Do you have a favourite spot on the property?

Oasis Spa.

What makes it special is that our treatments are not simply treatments, they are rituals. Every experience has been thoughtfully designed around this destination, from the products we use to the techniques, timing, and overall journey.

My personal favourite is our Vagus Nerve Ritual. It is unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere.

What's a hidden gem in the destination that most visitors don't know about?

Sol de Mayo is well known, but few people venture beyond the waterfall.

Just a little farther you'll discover a series of natural pools, small cascades, and beautifully weathered stones shaped by flowing water. It's incredibly peaceful, almost Zen-like, and remarkably uncrowded.

What's the best way to spend an unexpected free afternoon?

A boat ride from the Costa Palmas private marina.

Depending on the season, you're likely to spot dolphins or even whales. Add a Baja sunset to the experience, and it's hard to imagine a better way to spend an afternoon.

Are there any local traditions, cultural experiences, or seasonal moments travelers should seek out?

Absolutely. Experiences throughout the East Cape shift beautifully with the seasons.

Whether it's exploring Cabo Pulmo, discovering Sol de Mayo, enjoying wind-driven adventures in the winter months, or celebrating during the festive holiday season, there is always something authentic and memorable happening here. The destination evolves naturally throughout the year, and our experiences evolve with it.

If you could eat just one Baja dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Grilled chocolate clams.

What are you most proud of when you think about the team at Costa Palmas?

Having worked in many parts of the world, I can honestly say there is a natural kindness among our team members that is truly special.

The warmth, respect, and generosity they show guests are not trained behaviours, they are genuine qualities rooted in the local culture. Hospitality here cannot be transactional. It has to be authentic, and our people embody that every day.

How does your team bring the spirit of the destination to life?

Our team is deeply proud of the East Cape and everything that makes it different.

There is a tranquil energy here, a sense of exclusivity and connection to nature that guests feel immediately. Our employees serve as the bridge between this remarkable landscape and every guest experience. They help transform the raw beauty of Baja into something meaningful and unforgettable.

What sets Costa Palmas apart as a destination for groups and celebrations?

The overwhelming sense of place.

No matter the size of a group, guests often feel as though they have reserved an entire private resort. Everything feels customized, intimate, and dedicated exclusively to them.

Groups have access to extraordinary experiences ranging from snorkeling, diving, water sports, boating adventures, and ATV excursions to wellness-focused retreats featuring meditation, sound healing, and spa programming.

Do you have a favourite event venue?

Casa Encantada.

Set against the desert landscape, it was designed to honour its surroundings while incorporating elegant colonial influences. It can remain beautifully understated or be transformed into a spectacular celebration for up to 400 guests.

The most magical moment comes at sunset, when the sun disappears behind the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. It is impossible not to be moved by the setting.

What trends are luxury planners looking for today?

Today's luxury travellers are seeking experiences that feel deeply authentic, immersive, and personalized.

Rather than traditional event formats, we're seeing increased interest in wellness-focused retreats, transformational experiences, meaningful connections to nature, and exclusive access that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Costa Palmas is uniquely positioned to deliver all of those elements while maintaining a strong sense of privacy and sophistication.

What excites you most about the future of Costa Palmas and the East Cape?

The East Cape is becoming recognized as one of the world's most exclusive destinations, yet it remains remarkably true to itself.

What excites me most is seeing the region gain visibility without losing its identity. The developments taking shape here respect the landscape, honor Baja's heritage, and preserve the authenticity that makes this place so extraordinary.

Are there any emerging experiences advisors should watch?

Visitors are increasingly seeking experiences centered around the sea, hiking, snorkeling, windsurfing, and outdoor exploration. Nature remains at the heart of everything we do, and that's exactly why travellers are drawn here.

What do you wish travel advisors knew about Costa Palmas that isn't always obvious from a website or brochure?

The East Cape is a destination for connoisseurs – those who seek something beyond the expected.

The East Cape resonates most with people who have experienced a bit of the world, because they understand just how rare a place like this is. When you've traveled widely, you develop a deeper appreciation for destinations that still feel authentic and untouched. Here, it's not about excess – it's about the luxury of space. Space to breathe, to disconnect, and to immerse yourself in nature without the crowds. That sense of openness is increasingly rare, and it's one of the things that makes this resort so special. For guests who value those experiences, the East Cape isn't just another destination – it's a place that stays with you long after you leave.
