Costa Rica is famous for eco-travel, and Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo provides the ultimate two-day eco-experience, letting you accompany environmental scientists on rare land and sea adventures. It’s a chance to provide hands-on help in their efforts to study and protect exotic and endangered wildlife.
The first day begins with a private flight above the Pacific coastline, revealing a bird’s-eye view of dense forests, mangrove canals and volcanic rock formations. Upon arrival at the unspoiled Golfo Dulce, board a yacht to spend the day studying the life and habitat of hammerhead sharks. Led by marine biologists and conservationists, you’ll help monitor adolescent sharks and learn to document their activities. There’s an option to “adopt” and name a shark and receive reports on its travels and growth over its lifespan. At day’s end, return to Four Seasons for a great night’s sleep.
The next day, go deep into the rainforest to play a vital role in documenting butterfly species.
