FAMILY RESIDENCES IN JACKSON HOLE

For multigenerational travel, residential rental suites provide a very practical alternative – and they’re available in Four Seasons destinations around the globe!

In addition to its collection of guest rooms and suites – many ideal for smaller families – Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole offers a range of Resort Residences with two to five bedrooms, as well as full kitchen and laundry facilities.

With 1,720 to 4,355 square feet (160 to 405 square metres), these residences offer plenty of space for everyone to stay under the same roof. Large living areas provide places where family members can casually congregate – whether playing games, watching TV or just chatting over coffee – so there’s more opportunity for individuals to connect and enjoy quality time together. Just as important, guests can have their own bedroom with private bath to allow for different sleeping schedules. Everyone has space to do as they wish – perfect when grandparents want to read on the balcony and younger kids want to watch cartoons, while parents are preparing dinner.

Most multigenerational trips last at least a week, so having a kitchen adds valuable flexibility around meal times and personal diets. To make things easier, Four Seasons private chefs are available, serving meals at the dining table or outdoors on the balcony.

A residence in Jackson Hole provides a great home base for year-round family adventures – from winter skiing and snowboarding to warm-weather fly fishing, paddleboarding and wildlife safaris in Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. Your clients enjoy the perfect balance in their vacation, combining the independence of a private home with total access to Four Seasons service and amenities.

ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES IN OAHU

When recommending destinations for multigenerational travel, look for properties with a wide variety of on-site and off-site activities – some the whole family can share together, and some they may choose to enjoy in smaller groups.

A Hawaiian haven for family travel, Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina offers all the diversity of the island’s many famous attractions – with a location a mere 25 minutes from Honolulu and Waikiki Beach.

On property, the Resort provides complimentary Kids For All Seasons programming (free with stay for ages 5-12), allowing families as much “alone time” or “together time” as they desire. Parents can lounge at the spectacular oceanfront adults-only infinity pool, play tennis or golf, while their kids enjoy KFAS activities such as hula lessons, lei making, scavenger hunts, crafts, movies and more. Or they can opt for togetherness in a private cabana at the family pool overlooking the beach, with easy access to stand-up paddleboarding or outrigger canoeing with an experienced guide.

Scuba and free diving instruction are available for individuals and groups at all levels – in one of four pools or in the Resort’s safe, calm lagoon. Surfing lessons for any age can be arranged at nearby Pokai Bay, or an hour away at the fabled North Shore.

At Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre, treatments for keiki (children aged 11 and under) complement an extensive menu of traditional Hawaiian healing treatments for parents. Teens have access to the full adult spa menu.

As part of the Resort’s #FSWayfinders program, guests are encouraged to discover first-hand a myriad of experiences relating to Hawaii and the Pacific, weaving together traditions of the past with an occasional modern spin. Artisanal workshops include bamboo wood carving, haku lei making, painting, lauhala weaving, Ni’ihau shell jewellery making, and sarong dying, just to name a few.

For off-property activities, Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina’s guest services team can arrange family snorkelling, as well as dolphin or whale watching excursions. There are island heli-tours (for up to six) with epic mountaintop landings. Explore history at Pearl Harbor. Plan a hike at Diamond Head or discover remote nature trails. The whole family can enjoy a day trip to Kualoa Ranch for ATV rides, horseback rides, zip-lining or walking tours, exploring the same mountain range where “Jurassic Park” was filmed.

Count on the Four Seasons guest services team to help you craft an Oahu itinerary every member of the family will love.

INTRIGUING DESTINATIONS IN THE UK

When planning multigenerational travel for your clients, it’s smart to suggest a destination with famous attractions and activities that appeal to all ages – making the trip an eagerly anticipated event for everyone from young children and teens to parents and grandparents. Whether you’re booking a hotel or resort, Four Seasons is always a helpful partner in developing custom itineraries.

The UK is an ideal destination for all age groups, and our Four Seasons UK Collection includes two stylish London hotels, as well as a country hotel in Hampshire, just an hour away by train.

In addition to our flagship Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, we just opened Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square in January 2017. This new property is located just steps from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge – two popular attractions the whole family will enjoy visiting.

Kids will love the Sealife London Aquarium and the Museum of London. Teens might prefer a guided street art tour of cool nearby neighbourhoods, such as Spitalfields, Shoreditch and Hoxton, or an exhilarating guided expedition across the roof of The O2 arena.

Parents and grandparents might favour an evening of theatre, music or dance at The Barbican, The National Theatre or the Old Vic. They can visit the Tate Modern gallery after hours, or taste the best local and regional foods at Borough Market. For some easy sight-seeing, view London from the water aboard the Thames Clipper; the nearest pier is just three minutes away.

You can add some extra dimension to a multigenerational trip with a few days in the English countryside at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire. Adults can relax in the Spa, while children enjoy the Kids Club and the “Own a Pony” experience at the Equestrian Centre. The hotel offers an amazing array of adventures, including clay pigeon shooting, fly fishing and canal cruising, as well as the thrilling Highwire Adventure. Off-site excursion range from a tasting at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery to visits to Stonehenge, Windsor Castle or Jane Austen House – great for teenagers studying English literature.

With so many options for every member of the family, a Four Seasons destination like the UK becomes an easy sell for your clients.
